Ugly Mugs Tap Room and Grill was a unique project. The business needed branding along with accompanying restaurant material such as a menu, printed drinkware, business cards, and staff apparel. The atmosphere is laid back and fun. We wanted the logo to express that attitude.

 

Beyond the normal design collateral, the facade of the business was also addressed since it looked more like a hotel rather than a restaurant. We ended up going with oversized lighted letters with a rust patina along the whole of the building face; every letter backed with a panel of rough painted corrugated metal. The whole design breaks up the building and certainly draws attention to an otherwise bland exterior. Mission accomplished.
